We are seeking a full-time Legal Secretary to join our Residential Property team. The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team of three solicitors.
Main responsibilities:
- Providing secretarial support to solicitors in the Residential Property team
- Liaising with clients, estate agents and solicitors as necessary
- Audio/copy typing of letters and attendance notes
- Producing and amending documentation
- Dealing with file opening, closing, and retrieval procedures
- Electronic and manual filing of documents
- Preparing contracts and sending out papers
- Obtaining searches
- Preparing and submitting SDLT, AP1 and FR1 applications to the Land Registry online portal
- Ensuring applications are submitted within the OS1 priority period and requisitions replied to before the cancellation date
- Dealing with post completion matters
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Legal Secretary within a law firm is essential
- Excellent administrative, communication, organisational and digital dictation skills
- IT literate, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in the use of the Land Registry Portal
- Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering identification checks
- Experience in using a case management system
- Good level of numeracy, including an understanding of accounts ledger and preparation of completion statements
- Attention to detail
Pay:
- Negotiable depending on ability and experience
